Is this the right way to go?

I'm working on JRUBY-937 (http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/JRUBY-937?focusedCommentId=177943&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels%3Acomment-tabpanel#action_177943)

I was wondering if the specs I'm writing are good, or if I should choose another route for testing.

If this approach is good, I'll continue with more tests and submit a proper patch.
